Day 69 - Coober Pedy

A little sleep in this morning. Ken picked up a part for our TV antenna which broke a couple of weeks ago & the company sent a replacement to the PO. Then had a general look around town & among the opal fields. In the photos below even flowers are growing in abandoned mines. We went to all 3 of the underground Churches so the altar area of each of them are shown below and the hallway to the Sunday school rooms of one of them. At least it would be cool during summer to go to church.

Went to the lookout so a photo overlooking the town. After that went to an underground cafe for coffee (the most expensive of the trip - $7.50 each) - then refueled Percy and did some grocery shopping.

After lunch we went to a mine where you can walk through on a self guided tour. These photos are of that mine...

We leave here in the morning and will probably stay somewhere around Pimba or Woomera tomorrow night.
