Day 54 - Alice Springs

To start the day we went to Church and really enjoyed it. Last time we were in Alice & went to the Baptist Church they had just moved into an industrial shed & were still doing work on the building (Jim & Dorothy will remember). To now go back and see what they had done to the building was spectacular. It was the best transformation we have ever seen and to be there with several hundred worshipping in a country town was really encouraging. God is doing good stuff at The Alice.

Then went to the mall for the markets - heaps of people...

and had Korean pancakes & mango crush for lunch.

Back to the van for a short rest & change clothes - then went out to Simpsons Gap - on the way had a look at Rev John Flynn's grave...

We had been to this area before but the outlook is so special it was good to see it again...

On the way out we did a 2km walk up a hill to see the complete outlook...

And Faye found her flowers on the walk..

On the way back to town it was time for The Ghan to depart...

Next time we came to The Alice will be on The Ghan - possibly next year. Tomorrow we will travel 68 km to Ross River Resort in the East Macdonnells for 3 nights. Probably wont have mobile reception so may be Thursday before you see the next 3 days blogs.
