Day 62 - Yulara

A delightful evening yesterday with an outing called “A Night in a Field of Light”. We were picked up at 5pm and taken to a dune site for canapes and drinks whilst watching the sunset over Uluru. Then we walked to an outdoor dining area for a 3 course meal called “The Sounds of Silence”.

We were on a table with a family from Switzerland who were on a 3 week holiday in Australia and it was great.

The food was excellent with some interesting “bush” flavours. Even had some kangaroo and crocodile!

There was didgeridoo playing and during the evening a talk on the stars.

After dinner we spent an hour in the “Field of Light”.

 The photos are a little blurred as had to hold camera in poor light. After that we were taken back to camp and it was 10pm. A very good night - it was our splurge for this holiday.

This morning went to the Cultural Centre and then to Kata Tjuta for a walk through the Walpa Gorge...

Faye was sore today after yesterdays fall but coped well with todays walk.

Coming back to Uluru we drive around it for one last time.

 

We leave here tomorrow and will be somewhere around the South Australia border so blog may be late.
