Day 32 - Gulf Harbour

Left  Marsden Bay around 9am and first stop was after about 40km to Piroa Falls which was 9km off the  highway along a gravel windy road.

It was worth the effort to walk in and we found this...

Did a coastal diversion and had lunch at Weld for all you 800 Words tv fans. Actually it was Warkworth but it was the base as Weld for TV. Did a walk around the main street. In the photos below the clock is in Warkworth.

For much of the day we were on SH1 and the traffic going north was terrible. It is a long weekend and it seems half of Auckland started the weekend early. We are at Gulf Harbour tonight in a freedom camp and it is packed. We are now in Auckland northern suburbs and have a view across thewater to  Auckland city.

Tomorrow we will drive through Auckland to look at some things and we are booked into a park on the southern side for the next 3 nights. Despite NZ tourism being centered on motorhomes there is a real shortage of parks in the Auckland area.
