Day 31 - Marsden Bay

Left Bay of Islands around 10am and have travelled about 150km today to Marsden Bay. On the way we did a diversion to the Tutukaka coast area. This is said to be rated as one of the top 6 coastal areas in the world. It is a very popular diving area. Here are just a glimpse of the area...

A very windy road to go there. And Ken had to climb up a small lookout platform

Next stop was the beautiful Whangarei Falls...

After Whangarei (a large city) we came around to Marsden Bay to a freedom camp for the night. There is a refinery just up the road but it is a very nice place to spend the night.

On the road in had to pass an ice cream shop! Had to stop and the result was 2 huge scoops for $4 each. Much cheaper than Aussie...

Tomorrow a little bit further south and we will stop just before hitting Auckland suburbs.
