Day 14 - Dannevirke

A nice quiet night in our freedom camp last night - all by ourselves. Left around 8.30am and came through to Napier - it was a fairly slow trip as still many mountains to cover. The following photos were taken from the motorhome today...

The bridge is a railway viaduct and the last one taken not long before Dannevirke - the first time we saw some snow. And Faye loves the sheep on green hills.

We spent sometime in Napier - which is a beautiful city.

Had a quick walk-around and then went to the NZ National Aquarium. The purpose was to see a Kiwi as we thought we should see one whilst in NZ. No chance of seeing them in the wild. We saw 2 very active kiwi’s but couldn't get a decent photo as they are nocturnal and the light was low. But still included one in photo 3 below.

Another highlight was the penguins. One was swimming right next to us. Had lunch in the cafe there and then came another 120km to tonights camp.

Tomorrow we are going east of Wellington to the east coast Cape Palliser but if it rains we may need to change that.

No mobile there so no blog can be sent tomorrow night.
