Day 19 - Portland

It was very busy at Halls Gap yesterday and last night the caravan park was almost full. The reasons (a) it was the annual Run The Gap event & (b) Catholic  Schools students had Thurs & Friday off so it was a long weekend for them. Kids were everywhere!

Left around 10.30 and had morning tea at Dunkeld and then through to Portland for a late lunch. The country certainly changed - from the Grampians mountains, then to farming country which was very green to the south coast at Portland.

We wanted to do a zodiac boat trip to see the seals at Cape Bridgewater. However, they stopped doing them last week for the winter period. So - we will have to walk to see them - thats tomorrows plan.

Visited the Info Centre and had a look around the harbour and town (sorry - City). Also a visit to Woolworths to stock up.

The tram above is historic and runs for 7km around the waterfront - a trip for us is planned. Also one the biggest exports from Portland is wood chip!
