Day 9 : Rubicon S/F and Eildon

A quiet night last night and the kids were very quiet. The most noise was this morning as they sang the National Anthem before setting off. They were all from the Bellarine. Talked to one of the guides from an Outdoor Adventure company who said they have groups every week from schools all over Victoria and some from NSW.

We spent most of today in the Eildon area (about 20 kms away). Went to the Info Centre to get maps etc. First stop was morning tea at the boat harbour...then to a lookout. Then back to the dam wall and to a higher lookout a few Kms the other side.

The dam has a large power station and the last photos are some of the transmission lines as they cross the lake. They run from a huge tower just near where the photo was taken to the top of the mountain across the other side. Said it is the longest span in the Southern Hemisphere.

Back to Eildon for a little shopping and as we came back to the camp site went to Snob Falls...

As we were so close couldn't get it all in one photo. A very scenic spot.

Now resting back at the van. Tomorrow we are going exploring into the surrounding hills. There is a camping group from Melbourne here today for the weekend. About 30 people including kids.
