Day 8 : Rubicon State Forest

Only 100km today but had a few things to do in Seymour (like - toilet disposal - water - petrol - shopping - morning tea) so got away about midday.

We have finally now started into some hilly country. Kendalls Camp is in Rubicon State Forest which is about 25km from Lake Eildon. It was a bitumen road right to the camp which was unexpected.

There is only marginal mobile reception so cant upload photos etc. So the blog will go tomorrow when we are going into Eildon to look around the area. We are staying here in the forest for 2 or 3 nights before going to Mansfield. It is a nice place.

Tried to do a Facebook check in saying we had the place to ourselves - but that would have been premature. Now at dusk there are about 7 other camp groups plus heap of school kids on a school hike excursion. Today was their 3rd day and staying overnight here. They are very well behaved but so much for forest noises!

The kookaburra in the photo is our guardian - sits on a branch right near the van.
