Well it's on for Matt's 40th birthday celebrations. He decided Fiji was the place to do it - so whilst typing this we are 3/4 the way to Fiji on a Jetstar flight...
What an excuse for a short holiday. So on this flight are Faye and I, our daughter Sally as well as Matt, Heather, Mikayla and Harry. Other friends are also in Fiji and more arrive on another flight today. And Matt's in laws, Greg and Leila Fell arrive later tonight on their way back from USA. The birthday is tomorrow!
We are staying at the Sheraton Fiji Resort on Denarau Island which is near Nadi on the west side of the main island. Faye and I are combining the visit with a short hop to Suva on Wednesday/Thursday to see Peter and Jill Schultz who do prison ministry work in Fiji. Will update this further when we get to the resort and include some photos.
Well it's now 9pm. A long wait to get through immigration and arrived at the resort about 4pm. It is a beautiful place and after unpacking Sal headed for the pool and Faye & Ken did a walk around the resort.
For dinner we went to the Golf Club which is in walking distance and had a lovely meal. The Wenhams are also here for Matt's birthday and David Hogg arrived around 8pm. We are very tired so just getting an earlier night seeing the alarm clock went off at 3.45 this morning.
