Left Quinola Lakes this morning after nearly 6 weeks. It was difficult to leave with Kevin having to face his treatment for prostate cancer in the weeks ahead.
Only travelled 90 km to Mena Creek...
as the trip went down the mountains to the cane country.
Paronella Park was our reason for coming and we visited it during the day as well as a night tour.
It is a very unique place with a great history. Wont go into the details but was bought by Jose Paronella in 1931 as he built a castle for his family similiar to his home country of Spain.
Much of the original castle has been destroyed over the years by floods and cyclones but the overall history is fascinating. The day photos...
And 2 from tonight..
Another highlight was the devonshire tea during the visit!
We are camped tonight in a paddock behind the local pub as Paronella's caravan park was full. Tomorrow we plan to go down the coast a little further to around Cardwell.
