The first part of todays trip was a little slower as you can see from the photo below.
Morning tea was at Blackwater in Maccas McCafe (surprised to find one out here). Then another stop at Comet to look at Leichhardts tree. All these towns have interesting town signs.
Emerald has certainly grown since we were last there - big shopping centres so a visit to Woolworths to stock up and a walk around. Lunch was at Capella and then a look around Clermont. We were going to stay there but decided to keep going towards Charters Towers. We came about 80 km and staying the night at a roadside rest area and trusting that there wont be too many trucks during the night!
One feature in this Central Qld area is the amount of coal mines and trains taking coal to the coast. We were passing them regularly...
