We were to stay at Horseshoe Top-End for 3 nights. However, the owners saw us this morning & suggested we leave today due to forecast rain tonight & tomorrow. The road is in good condition but they had rain last week & any further rain will make the road extremely slippery & could be difficult with a large caravan. They refunded 2 nights & were OK for us to do their 4WD trip before we left this afternoon.
The 4WD stuff took about 2 1/2 hours & were back for lunch & packing up.
The drive took us basically around the rim of the horseshoe pound with views into the pound & outside at a couple of lookouts. It was a very rocky track & worse than we anticipated but the views were worth it. The worst of it though was that it was EXTREMELY windy & dust in the air. Check Faye’s photo below…
Faye says that is our last 4WD track - not just this holiday - EVER!

Tonight we are just outside Orroroo at a free camp that a farmer makes available on his land.

Not sure where we will be tomorrow night. Have 2 extra days until our next booking on Friday at Murray Bridge.
