Day 44 - The Pinicales (70km from Winton)

As were leaving the camp this morning there were heaps of bee-eater birds around…

The other photos are the painted water tank & nearby.

Next stop was IGA & then the bakery for morning tea followed by giving Luna a big drink of water.

Nearby was the Mary Kathleen Memorial Park…

The tank mural was only done this year.

The Mary Kathleen was a uranium  mine that started in 1956 & closed in1982. On a previous trip we camped there & looked at the mine site.

Then Izzy was very thirsty & then onto McKinlay which is famous for Crocodile Dundee…

Had lunch there before travelling to Kynuna

The tree is a “Coolibah” made of metal by the women of the town.

Tonight we are about 70kms from Winton at a place called “The Pinicales”…

It is a huge area & about 10 vans around at present & right next to a Telstra tower.

Tomorrow to Winton for 2 nights.
