The water is Blowering Dam and at Talbingo Jounama Pondage.
First up we had a look at the Tumut No 3 power station which has the biggest generation capacity of the Snowy Hydro system. Had a talk to one of the workers & learnt that it is already the biggest pumped hydro system in Australia. In the photos below you see 6 pipes bringing water to the power station from the Talbingo Dam above to operate 6 generators but 3 of them have a return system to return water to the dam above. The water keeps recycling!
An expensive morning tea - then up & over the mountains to Kosciuszko National Park. Actually it is a beautiful drive with ever changing landscapes.
We are camped tonight in a N/P camp at the northern end of Lake Eucumbene. 4 vans here tonight plus lots of kangaroos.
We do have mobile reception so the blog should upload ok. It is a very nice spot here - tomorrow to Cooma for 2 nights before we head to Victoria.
