Day 22 - Kenilworth

A beautiful sunny day today for our trip to the Eumundi Markets. Only about 25km from here and a good road.

The markets were huge - Wednesdays were supposed to be less busy than Saturdays - but it was crowded today. We arrived in town at  8.45am to packed streets but did fluke a free park close by as someone pulled out. By mid morning even the paid car parks were full. We think we covered most of the markets including the Square markets across the road.

Early on we bought cookies and coffee for morning tea and then just walked! Street parking was limited to 2 hours so at 11am started looking for somewhere else - so drove round and around hoping for someone to leave. Ended up in the School carpark - which was allowed after 9am - and people weren’t driving in.

So stayed and had lunch and walked more…. Did use our credit card 9 times - Faye was successful in buying as well as our eats.

Back at the van this afternoon for a rest/reading. Leaving in the morning for Beewah and staying at the Sportsground.

From here on we have had trouble getting camps - caravan parks are full but did get a site at the Sportsground - which is being closed down by the Council at end on this month.

Couldn’t get anything in Ipswich (it’s the annual show weekend) so had to go out towards Toowoomba.

Our plan was to go to the Gold Coast hinterland but just couldn’t find anywhere except 2 nights on  farm near Tamborine. People said that anything a close drive from Brisbane is extremely hard.
