Day 67 - Goyder’s Line Melrose

A nice sunset last night at Lake Hart and the area was packed out!

This morning was up early for sunrise and then Ken did a walk down to the lake and on it (brought back some salt for Faye but as it wasn’t rock she didn’t want it!).

Heard The Ghan go through at 2am but a couple of goods trains were passing this morning. This was some water on a small part of the lake.

Left around 9.30am and with morning tea along the road to Port Augusta.

The scenery was rapidly changing. At PA we fuelled up Percy and cheap drinks from the Maccas app!

After Port Augusta it was a dramatic change in colour - green everywhere after weeks of red...

A reasonably short trip over the range to Wilmington.

Here we were able to replenish our water supply after 4 days and empty toilet etc.

Then only 18km to a lovely free camp which is on the Goyder’s Line just outside Melrose (you can google that one).

We are the only ones here. Tomorrow will start seeing silos etc and not sure how far we will get. The planning says camping next to the Murray River.
