First up was Standley Chasm. Loved the walk followed by morning tea at the kiosk. Was the best we have had and the cheapest! This area is owned and operated by the indigenous people whereas all the others are National Park.
Some photos of the walk...
Faye did find a keepsake. Lots of wood had been cut up from fallen trees.
Then just outside Alice is Simpsons Gap...
As we were walking out heaps of people were coming in - The Ghan was in town for the day.
Then had a brief sojourn into the East Macdonnells to see Emily and Jessie Gaps. Emily is of special significance to the local indigenous community as it tells the story of 3 caterpillars which they believe are their ancestral beings.
Tomorrow is our last day in Alice Springs so may visit a museum (if Faye can be convinced!).
