Day 3 - Waiomu

We had a good night's sleep last night and we are getting some systems in place in the Mercedes Benz (never driven a MB before) to sleep and eat etc.

Tonight we are free camped so the shower will be a real test for Ken - it isn't very big!

First stop this morning was to visit a supermarket to stock up - Countdown (Woolworths). Only 8km but the traffic was just crawling and it was 35km from Auckland City. As soon as we finished there was a cafe/bakery across the road so HAD to visit for morning tea.

Then headed west to Hunua Falls...

It was a beautiful place and it was for all the 800 Words (TV series) fans. It was featured in the TV show where the Dad buried his wife's ashes. Faye still was getting wood but good excuse this time - not allowed in Aussie.

Then headed across towards The Coromandel Peninsula and overnighting alongside the water at Waiomu. Some views of today's travels...

And of course Faye always finds birds and flowers along the way.
The mobile reception is very patchy so will send blog when we can. Tomorrow to Coromandel Town.
