Day 59 - Fraser Range Station

A very wet night last night and showery for much of the trip today. Left Esperance about 8.30am and had morning tea along the road. Topped up with fuel at Norseman and arrived at Fraser Range Station for a late lunch. We have power site here but it is full now at 4pm.

Had a walk around this afternoon as the sun was shining by then. The property originally was a sheep station but for many years they destocked and ran the caravan park. About a year ago they discovered a very good seam of nickel so a mine has been established and the processing plant will be operational shortly. It is about 80km from here - Fraser Range is approx 175km long and 28km wide. They run some cattle now.

They do a 2 course evening meal and tonight is roast pork so we are booked in for a feed.

The next 2 or 3 nights we will be free camped further along the Nullarbor so mobile reception will be off and on. We will ease up on the photos now as most Nullarbor photos were on the blog coming over.

Faye is now very happy we are heading EAST...
