A special day of memories as we went back to the place where we lived when first married in 1965. Ken was transferred to Bangalow NSW late in 1964 with the then Bank of New South Wales. We lived in Bangalow until 1968.
We spent about 3 hours there, including a very expensive morning tea (was told the lady had won heaps of awards for her sweets) - so we had to have some and it was magnificent.
We went into the CWA shop as there were a couple of older ladies there & one had lived there for 65 years so many discussions on people who we all knew and business people. The town has changed substantially in what businesses are there. Now the town has 13 coffee shops!
Had a look at our old home which looks substantially the same except for different front door.
Then went to Mullumbimby where we went to Church and where Tim was born in the original old hospital. Some families in the Church were the Bridglands and noticed that that name was on the furniture shop so we went in and then spent sometime talking to Rob Bridgland who was 5 years old when we left. He is the only one of 2 families still in the town and the oldest son of a couple who we were very friendly with. His parents gave us the bassinet that Rob used and all our kids used it and many other families in the years since.
For lunch went to Uncle Tom's pies which is on the original Pacific Highway (now bypassed but business still there). It was quite a famous shop on the highway and we often had pies for lunch after Church. Still taste great!
Came back via Byron Bay and on the way back through Ballina were able to do a pre poll vote for the upcoming election.
Tomorrow we are moving inland to Tenterfield.

Sounds like you're having a wonderful time down memory lane.
