Day 35 - Quinola Lakes

Today started out great with a rainbow and then was sunny all day...

We then had a big day out with Kevin & Pat. First stop was the Manu Canopy Walkway on the Palmerston Highway - none of us had been there before and we spent a great couple of hours doing a rainforest walk, going out on a cantilever, walking the raised canopy walk & climbing the tower.

Here is Ken on the cantilever...

And Faye on the tower...she did climb it (very cautiously)..

Some of the rainforest...
Then had lunch and a walk to 2 waterfalls - will put those photos on the blog tomorrow.
Whilst just parked at the roadside finishing lunch this young cassowary came out...and this was a highlight,

After lunch we went on some tracks for about 40km through what they call the "Misty Mountains". Near all through forests and crossed the South Johnstone River...

Came across some locals & Faye was able to get a photo of one of the youngsters..

Checked out a couple more waterfalls on the way home - all up a good day.
