NSW Day 67 Mendooran

Cobar had nearly an inch of rain last night but it was fine for travel today.

Had morning tea at Nyngan - this was the view of the Bogan River from the van...

Did a little food shopping - Ken lived in Nyngan for a year as a 17 year old & this is where he lived - above the Shire offices. His bedroom was top floor at the front left...
Lunch was at Warren and we were overlooking the Macquarie River this time...
Tonight we are at a free camp at Mendooran - the drive from Gilgandra was very colourful...

Here we are next to the Castlereagh River...

This will be the last blog for this holiday as we will be home tomorrow.

We have had a fantastic time and the holiday surpassed our expectations. As well as seeing family to be able to do the extremes of Cape York and the Simpson Desert were highlights.

For those who may be interested in some statistics - by the time we get home we will have done 11,287km.

The holiday will be for 68 days so an average of 166km a day.

Petrol was an average of $1.60 per litre (cheapest $1.41 - dearest $2.31). We have used 1841 litres so average consumption was 16.31 litres per 100km.

Thanks to everyone who has followed our travels - we were glad to have you along.

So until next time,

Thanks

Faye and Ken
