Day 17 Chirnside Park

Another beautiful day in Melbourne. Went to Marysville which was nearly wiped out in the fires 2 years ago. Was a very interesting day especially to see how much rebuilding has already been done. We had a look at a garden which had heaps of sculptures...


They had been mostly restored - you can see that the piano had been through the fire. Had lunch at the Bakery which was the only business that had survived..this is part of the main street & the right hand side was full of shops...


This is where the Church was...


Went for a drive in a forest & you can see the the mountain ash trees do not regenerate - only by seeding..


Tonight we took June out to celebrate her 70th birthday..
