Days 17 to 19 - Uralla

Had a very quiet time the last 2 days...mainly catching up with some of Marie’s family.

Today for our last day before heading home tomorrow we went to Yarrowyck where Faye grew up. Did a long walk in the Yarrowyck Nature Reserve...

About 3kms to an aboriginal art site alongside Mt Yarrowyck.

Faye almost stepped on the snake...that made her jump! Lots of flowers and birds.

Also had a look around the Yarrowyck area...

It is the Gwydir River near where Faye used to live. The bridge over the Booralong Creek was named after her father “Milson Bridge”. It was opened in 1961 the year that Ken moved to Armidale and met Faye. The bridge was where their property “Oakview” was. The 2 houses are on that property and the first one Faye lived in till about 11 years of age and then the other one until we were married. It was then that her parents sold the property and moved to Armidale.

Thats the end of this short holiday...home tomorrow. Thanks for coming along with us.
