Day 71 - Dimboola

A very slow morning at Bordertown....Faye was told she could sleep in as we only had to travel 120km today!

Went into the township and the first building was a bakery. So - had to visit and what a find it was. The bakery was built over the original Police station and gaol. The original roof etc was still inside the new building and they had heaps of historic items everywhere. The first photo below shows a little of it. Included is a gift shop which Faye visited and bought. And outside was a lovely park.

The house in photo 4 was where Bob Hawke grew up in his early years. It was a Manse and Bob’s father was the Congregational Minister in Bordertown.

On the way out of town there is a wildlife park where they have white kangaroos. Managed to get a photo of one with a joey.

Then on to Dimboola for the night where we are camped at the local recreational ground. Passed the pink lake just a few kms before Dimboola.

The sheep were at Kaniva where we had lunch. Faye though the art of sheep shearing men was a good one.

Not sure where we will be tomorrow night. In the morning going to visit a stickshed so depends how long that takes.
