The first part was an hour walk with a tour guide who was a maori who grew up in the village. There are 60 maori’s who live in the village now. Also a demonstration of how their skirts etc are made from flax.
Then there was a cultural performance followed by a hangi lunch which we had booked yesterday. It was delicious.
Of course it is a thermal village so the heat and water are used for many purposes, including most of their cooking. The photos below show the 3 main parts - The Village, the thermals and the culture. We thoroughly enjoyed this Maori experience.
Then we had a look at the Government Gardens and Lake Rotorua then to Redwoods Forest for a walk.
Finished the day with a drive to see Blue Lake and Green lake. It’s been a busy day!
