Day 17 Grampians National Park

Wow- what a day. Mentioned yesterday that todays target was The Pinnacle. We made it but it was probably the hardest walk that we have ever done.

But first up we went to The Grand Canyon - about 600m but still not easy....

Then onto The Pinnacle walk. Took us over 2 1/2 hours and it was hard. Initially heaps of large rock steps - and the last long section was rock scrambling      to get to the lookout. Got lots of encouragement along the way - one young fellow said “wish my grandparents would do this” - we obviously looked like grandparents!

Some of the rock formations are great and very unusual. The following photos are of the climb - the first 6 on the way and the next group at the top.

We were both on our bottoms getting down sections a few times!

After that we did a 2km easy walk to Silverband Falls.

Got back to Halls Gap after 2pm - bought lunch and some vanilla slices. Ate lunch in the park with the birds asking for some  also.

My fitbit said over 14,000 steps and climbed 64 floors.

We are guaranteed to be very sore tonight. Ken is already getting cramps in his legs and Faye is in pain! Never again...

Tomorrow will be an easy one. Faye is eyeing up the shops!
