This is a test blog entry as we have a new iPad and had to find a new app that will work with the latest operating system.
Earlier this year we went to the Victorian High Country which we really enjoyed so this time we are heading back to Victoria to do the silo art trail as well as some other areas. Many places are now having their silos painted and they are becoming a real tourist attraction. There are a lot of towns in central Vic that have recently completed their silos as well as some further east. Australia Post are bringing out new stamps which feature 4 silos and these will be issued from 28th May. There are also a couple in NSW and 8 silos are presently being painted at Portland, near Lithgow. That will be our first stop and hope to see the painting being done.
So the trip will be to Central Vic and down to the Grampians, followed by Portland Vic then back along the Great Ocean Road to Geelong and Melbourne to see friends. Then up to see other silos and back via central NSW.
To give you a taste of what silos can look like here is a photo we took last year at Thallon Qld. These silos will be on one of the new stamps.
