Our week in Fiji is going quickly...today was a cruise to South Sea Island. The weather was not great as it was raining as we boarded the boat. On the island it generally was mostly fine but very overcast and an occasional shower. It is a very small island to cater for day trippers and about 30 minutes from Denarau.
Had a BBQ lunch and then some entertainment...
A relaxing day with some of our crew snorkeling. We went on a underwater viewing boat over the coral reef. The photos below dont do it justice as hard to get them through the glass...
Got back to the resort about 7pm and then went to the Golf Club for dinner.
We wanted to mention that Sally went to a town on the northern side of the island on Thursday called Rakiraki . David Hogg hired a vehicle and drove her. Sally teaches at Hunter Christian School and they have a sister school arrangement with the Rakiraki school. The recent cyclone devestated the town and school and Sally took heaps of stuff from her school as well as lots of other stuff from people. Matt sent a supply of his book as well as lots of cricket gear. The photo below shows some the kids and the damage.
It has been a very rewarding week with Matt's birthday, Sally visiting Rakiraki and for us to spend time with Peter and Jill Schultz in Suva.
